Juggling Elephants at Inauguration

I read this book back in 2005, called "Juggling Elephants" by Jones Loflin and really like the concept of the book and how to manage my life. I get newsletters and they remind me and help me refocus. The below is an excerpt from today's newsletter. I am blogging about this because I liked how they phrased it is our responsibility to make a difference. It is the person in the mirror who is responsible.
Juggling Elephants Comment At The Inauguration
The title wasn't mentioned, but concepts that are strongly promoted in the book were highlighted by President Barack Obama. Consider these words from his inauguration address:

What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility -- a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character than giving our all to a difficult task.-President Barack Obama

In short...Be The Ringmaster of your circus and act based on your purpose. These are difficult times, and if we are to survive and achieve any level of success professionally, personally and as a nation, we must take full control of our actions-and align them with our purpose. Expecting our situation to magically change solely because of the actions of others or an organization is like putting up a tent and hoping a circus will come by...it just won't happen.

Take what you want and apply.... to YOU!

I still think you should be a motivational speaker! That was awesome. Melinda
