Cute comments from the mouth of babes

I've decided to record some cute things I heard about my family.  It's my plan to record memorable stories so that they can't be shares years to come.

Today...
David S., on the answering machine. "This is David. This is David S...., Mom, Thomas and Sydney are not at home. Please leave a message.

Chloe said as she walked into the cupcake store, "now everyone.. lets sing happy birthday to my mom". Mom blushed and said, oh no you don't have too.

Chloe said as they were getting on the road to great grandma's house, "wow look at all the people going to Grandma's house."

2012 Memorial Day, thank you

Billy and I drove back from Hiawassee, GA and on the way back we stopped to visit my mom and Tudy. It was a delight to visit with them. We shared a few stories to include FSU Flip Flops for Tudy, Tudy in shoe department, Chloe telling her mom to relax and be like a mermaid floating in the water and last the girls (Audrey and Paisley) drinking green smoothie and one of them taking the straw out of the others mouth, putting the binkie in mouth and the straw in her mouth. It is fun being an Aunt and grand daughter. But more importantly a wife and mom!

Since it is Memorial Day, we saw flags and I stopped to take pictures. First was in Columbus, Ga on Fort Benning Base entrance with the flags at half mast, at bank in Calquitt, Ga and in Edison, Ga in Downtown.

Fort Benning:

I felt and feel extremely honored to be an American and to have been a part of Fort Benning in my life. Thank you to all who have and still are serving our country to make us safe on this land of freedom we live and call The United States of America.

Calquitt, Ga

Edison, Ga

Our chapel

We drove by our little chapel while in Hiawassee, GA. They fixed the well that was falling down. It was exciting to drive by our little chapel.
Just think it has almost been a year.

Swimming in lake Chatuge

We surprised Ray and Bonnie by going to visit them for Memorial Day weekend. Billy and I had a wonderful time. When we walked in the house, they didn't know we were coming. Boy oh boy they were so surprised! Spending time with Billy by ourselves was so awesome. We hadn't taken a trip by ourselves like that ever. How crazy is that. We were able to make some important plans for our future. Planning a future with him is so much fun. We think the same and that to me is another reason we are to be together.

Bonnie took some pictures of us in the water. We are always taking pictures so there is not many pictures of us together.

The Donkey That Fell In the Well

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.
He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.
A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.
As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The t rick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.
Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1) Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.
2) Free your mind from worries - Most never happen.
3) Live simply and appreciate what you have.
4) Give more.
5) Expect less
